Job description

IOWN is hiring a Manager, Talent Acquisition and Development to lead talent acquisition, foster professional growth and establish talent retention and development initiatives. The ideal candidate is an extroverted and motivated leader, who is intuitive and passionate about communicating, influencing, motivating, and creating connections both internally and externally.

This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of talent sourcing and recruiting for IOWN. As an outward-facing representative of IOWN, you will be expected to communicate professionally and enthusiastically about our company, people, business, and goals.

You will coordinate, design, and implement initiatives, events, and programs for talent retention and team building. In this position, you will have the opportunity to independently build relationships and learn what uniquely motivates each IOWN employee to drive them toward results and build programs to engage further individual development and to enhance our overall workplace culture.

Seniority level based on candidate experience. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Human Capital Development

  • Closely monitor the organizational chart, taking into consideration expressed and perceived needs regarding talent, in order to identify gaps and proactively recommend solutions with a corresponding plan.
  • Design and implement initiatives, activities, and events for team building, and professional growth.
  • Foster quality, effective and efficient internal communication. Evaluate current communication, provide suggestions for improvement and be responsible for managing implementation.
  • Build training and development plans tailored to specific team needs that align with and support our company goals.
  • Create a strategy and set goals for talent retention.

Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for open positions, including assisting hiring managers with creation of requisitions, job descriptions and postings, screening candidates and interviewing.
  • Research and implement interviewing and candidate testing best practices. Manage external recruiters as needed.
  • Continuously source and nurture a diverse pipeline of both active and passive candidates through social media, cold calling, networking events, university recruiting, and more.
  • Work in conjunction with Marketing to develop and execute a communication campaign to attract top talent and create brand awareness.
  • Work closely with Project Development to identify and attend conference networking opportunities that will support talent acquisition efforts.

Talent Management

  • Assist in the communication and upkeep of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to the development of policies, as needed.
  • Support HR during the onboarding process.
  • Evaluate new employee onboarding experience and recommend ways to automate and streamline the process.
  • Support HR and managers in issues and processes related to leaves, performance and talent management, organizational changes, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Suggest changes to employee benefits, performance programs, rewards, and recognition.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Psychology, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Four (4) years in a full-time talent acquisition or management role.
  • Previous experience coordinating programs, initiatives and events is preferred.
  • Interest and experience in renewable energy is a positive.
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating others, building teams, and stimulating a positive company culture.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and persuasion skills. Engaging and interactive communication style.
  • Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels.
  • High tolerance for uncertainty.
  • Flexible and cooperative with a well-developed team spirit.
  • Current driver’s license and ability to travel is required.
  • Excellent computer skills working with various office equipment, computers and various programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. and the ability to effectively work on spreadsheets, word processing, networking, and e-mail programs.

The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in San Diego, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
